Taking Life in the UK test earlier
Hi everyone, just wondering if it's ok to take the UK Life Test this yr which is very early I think as I'm needing it for applying the ILR year 2017? Thanks in advance for your help and time

Yes....better than later. Get it done and out of your way so you will no longer worry about taking it when time is close for your application. Aside from that, you really need time to study the official book, the exam may only have 24 items but the questions are tricky and there's so much information to absorb from the book. Don't rely on questions and answers as the questions in the actual exam are so different. Just a friendly advice, don't rush to get the exam, take your time reading and understanding the history...by that, you can guarantee yourself that you will pass the exam.

I've been studying since last year and I think am ready. just made me confused when hubby phoned the Testing Centre asked the same question mentioned here, they said I need the recent exam result for ILR and still early for me to take the Exam.
Thnx for the friendly advice Aprilmaejon"Love Knows no boundaries and no distance; miles and obstacles mean absolutely nothing in the face of Love"

You can take the Life in UK Test whenever you want. Also as many times as you need (just a question of budget)
As others have said better to secure that pass certificate as early as possible and at a time that suits you. Leaving it too late will pile on the time pressures and may cause you to ultimately put off the ILR application.
The pass certificate has no expiry and there's no requirement for it to be recently issued at all.
Do what suits you best and fits in with your life now.
These are true life impacting issues.

A few years ago there was gossip about them putting an expiry date on the Life in UK cert, but nothing came of it, I think it can only cost more and get more difficult to pass in the future.
Nothing ever gets cheaper or easier

I don't know if they will change the rule again (ie put an expiry date for the Life in UK Test) but that is the same answer to my friend who is due to have her ILR this July 2014 which is too early to take the test.
Please update us if you have successfully booked your test.''Don't be serious..Be Sincere''
