Age Gap Love
Channel 5 ... 9 o'clock tonight !
Six people whose partners are much younger than themselves, reveal why being from different generations is no barrier to romance.
Marilyn's relationship with her husband, William began when she was 45 and he, only 16 - and was tested from the start by abusive harassment from so~called "friends" and neighbours. Whilst Edna (78) and Simon (39) bonded through their mutual fondness for organ music. Mike (74) is coping with an eight-week old baby alongside wife, Lindsey - 41 yrs his junior - while 58-year-old Gary enjoys clubbing in Ibiza with spouse Kate who is half his age.
Now, as it happens, my first [late] wife was exactly 5 years older than me. Whereas, Myrna is approximately 15 and a bit years younger than I am.
Obviously it "cuts BOTH ways" ...
........................ !
Methinks this programme should interest more than a few of our forumers.

cheers Arthur..just got home in time for this
One slight difference, they're all British. All equal. No ones to gain
It just goes to show, you can't judge anyone by their age. Look at the 74yo guy and the 58yo...the 58yo guy looks older!

Cheers, Mark ... glad you were able to see this programme, and thanks for your observations which - as always - are appreciated.
... true.
Yes ... the 74-year-old's hair might've been a bit greyer than that of his younger counterpart, but he was a actually much more agile - regardless of the latter's claim to being known as "the oldest swinger in town" - and certainly a lot less wrinkly~looking. Heck ... his newborn daughter and her elder infant sister are his 52-year-old son's half-siblings - even beating your own incredible family record with the respective differences in their ages!!!

Watched it.
Typical narrow-minded British attitudes displayed.
My girl is 28. I'm 62. No age issues at all, between the two of us.
There are far more important things in this world to worry about.

in almost all relationships one is always older / younger than the other---so at what point does the difference become a topic ?
my ex wife is 11 years older than her current toy boy--so what ?
I'm 23 years older than my partner--shes the same age as my daughter. her little boy is younger than my grandchildren. its keeping me young--yet wearing me out at the same time.

I'm 43 years older than my Maritess, no problems at all, most people think we are very suited and find it hard to accept that the age gap is so great!

When I was 22 I introduced my mother to my 42 year old Canadian girlfriend (who was married at the time...) and mother was not pleased. Many of my girlfriends have been older then me. My wife is only 8 years older :-)
What's the problem?

When you hit middle age, you'll be able to answer that question yourself
BTW. .My first proper girlfriend. . (Sex and all that) was 32 years old. ..I was 16 at the time.
She was a live in nanny for the local landowner.
Caused a rumpus, I can tell you.
I loved her. ..she dropped me after the summer. .broke my heart.
I saw her in town decades later. ..going by what I saw, I had a lucky escape. I wouldn't of had all my wonderful children either.

Jealousy!
I notice it extremely rarely thankfully, but you can be sure the women are resentful you aren't with some fat bingo-winged slack jawed woman who takes her false teeth out every night and isn't too hot on the personal hygiene like her, and the men are......often secretly admiring

It's nice to see that men are dominating this topic and doesn't mind being open with their love for their woman! He is 49 years old and I'm 28 and we get along so well. He tells me that I make him young and pushes him to go to the gym, keep fit and healthy. Likewise, he's opening the world for me little by little and turning me into a mature woman. We don't encounter too much second stares from older women or couple. But we had this one incident when we were eating lunch somewhere in Knightbridge, where this uber silicone/collagen-stuffed old woman kept on staring at me, not to mention her fake bleached hair and fake nails! Ofc, I had to fight back and gave her my diamond-cutting fiery look!
This wife.. has an amazing husband.
