My boy has flown the nest. :(

Yesterday my son...my only natural child, moved out and into his own flat.

He's all grown up now, and I wish him the best of luck, but it has left dad feeling rather sad and lonely today.

    Thankyou Michael.

We all have our weaknesses, and mine is that I worry constantly about those close to me. I think about him riding his bike 3 or 4 miles each way to and from work through the traffic in this sometimes awful weather, and I worry about him being hurt or uncomfortable in any way, or struggling with anything. I know he's not 12 anymore, but it doesn't stop me fussing over him as if he were.

    Thanks.

Yes, that's him when he was 3 years old...on our way to the beach near our apartment in Hong Kong. At that age he had almost fair hair because of the sun.

    Another one from that time...

Just be sure to always be there.......

    It's a glad-sad day.

most parents can,t wait to get rid of their kids lol recent statistics show the average age when kids are leaving home is almost 30 because they can,t get mortgages or afford rents .poor mama and papa never gonna get any piece n quiet lol my cousin was 41 before he left a bit extreme but there ya go lol.I personally could,nt wait to leave thats why I joined the navy at 16 coz I could,nt get along with ma dad lol never looked back been independant ever since.

Yes, I left home at 18 (couldn't get on with my dad either). Bought my first house at 25.

My son has stayed longer because he went on to 6th form and A-levels...but I'm a very different person to my dad. Rather more 'modern' and tolerant (I like to think so anyway ).
