    Well aint that great

    Well we have got the news about our holiday from Ems work, and we wanted from dec 25th till jan 18th and they have come back saying yes and no,
    You can have them dates but you have to come back to work on the 30th/31st dec and the 1st jan , who the hell do they think they are, have to get my thinking cap on now

    That's a tough one. Nothing you can really do. In my job I can get someone to do my shifts and I do theirs in return, don't suppose you have that option? Plus I wouldn't think anyone would want to swap and do those shifts anyway!

    steve my ex is a staff nurse on the same ward for 25 years and she could never get both christmas and new year off together, it was you have one or the other but not both thats the way it is .

    xmas and boxing day are her days off, thats how it has worked out, but we are willing to work them if someone will exchange the dates with her, we shall see

    Because of the NHS three week rotor system my ex only had one Christmas day off every three years, so we just accepted it's just a date on the calendar and had our Christmas day on the next day off. It looks like Maritess may be working Christmas and New Year, the extra money at time and a half will be useful!
