Devastated Carlton family's uncertain future as Home Office keeps dad out of UK

well if he had spent a decade here, he had 10yrs to sort out becoming a British citizen

I don't know why they are appealing they will not win his ILR has expired

A MOTHER-of-three has made a desperate plea for help after immigration red tape forced her husband to live 4,000 miles away – even though he had lived in England for 12 years.

    Stupid people.

After all that missionary work, you'd think their 'god' would be looking after them.

    Oh dear.

Hmm ... methinks this couple's plight has already been mentioned before on the forum.

Which reminds me of a case Fred once drew attention to ... whereby an elderly British bloke wed a Filipina, and he and his wife lived in the UK for 11 years after their marriage - before eventually moving to her *homeland. Alas ... after a long spell *there, the husband developed a serious illness - couldn't afford the cost of treatment in the Phils - and was going to have to come back to Blighty for major surgery ... ALONE - the reason being that, throughout the time he and his wife had spent in , she hadn't applied for ILR.

    Sad state of affairs.

I have no sympathy for folks who don't pay their car insurance, car tax, community tax or any other sort of bill.

... who's to say the Reagans don't pay their bills?

Anyway ... we aren't discussing things like car tax & insurance, Community Charge or, indeed, any ancillary "domestic" payments
