It's time the Phils govt. refused to allow them to work in the region.
How many UNREPORTED attacks are there ?
It's all about the remittences of course...and maybe the oil.

The only good thing that'll come from this is world wide publicity. Also believe me when he's found guilty he wont be doing any more raping not the head on his shoulders though

They should build a 100ft wall around the place and then drain the oil from under it.
Those people are from another world, that civilisation has moved on from...at least 100 years ago.

Probably only charged him because he's a foreigner as well. If he'd been a local the poor girl would probably have been charged

UAE-Philippines to sign deal to protect maids
The UAE is set to sign an agreement with the Philippines to protect maids who are currently not covered by the country’s labour laws, said a report.
The agreement on household service workers (HSWs) is expected to stop contract substitution and other violation by their employers, said the Khaleej Times report.
“The Philippines will be waiting for the note verbale from the UAE government when it is ready anytime in November. If it pushes through as agreed by both countries, it will become the first such accord with the Philippines,” Philippine Labour Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz was quoted as saying.
The unified contract will be patterned after the same in Saudi Arabia, aimed at preventing the exploitation of Filipina maids.

Yes, I've already read that somewhere else Joe.
The fact remains that any young lady from the Philippines is evidently at risk of sexual abuse by males in those (muslim) countries simply because of their disgraceful attitude towards women in general.
It is a cultural issue that won't be solved by bringing in 'agreements'.

That's what I think too, but of course the Philippines govt. have got very little clout in this world (though they like to kid their people that they do), and of course they are putting remittence value over the safety of their women.

Surely - as I mentioned earlier in #7 - occurrences of the kind being discussed in this thread, effectively negate the purpose for which the *Commission for Filipinos Overseas is intended ... thereby making a complete mockery of *its whole concept, in other words.

Very true Arthur.
These things are going to happen anywhere, but this sort of abuse and depravity does seem to be particularly prevalent in 'certain' countries, shall we say.
