Ridiculous, and totally unnacceptable in this country in the 21st century.
What happened to 'rights of the child', human rights, equality of the sexes, etc etc ?
There are two sets of rules in this country. There should be ONE law for ALL who reside here.
ALL minors who live in this country, regardless of their parents' religion, should NOT be subjected to religious brainwashing.

Can't see how the school can legally dictate how pupils should dress when outside school property.

Totally agree with this!
And it applies to Islam, Christianity and anything else. Schools should be teaching children about facts, evidence and the scientific method, not religious mumbo jumbo.
Faith schools are a barrier to integration and I certainly don't want my taxes supporting them.

Indeed it's time to take all religions out of the classroom. Children need educating not brainwashing

When asked whether the Government should fund "faith schools", 32% said they should while 45% said they shouldn't (the rest didn't know). When broken down by religion, the only kind of "faith school" that has a margin of support is Church of England (4%).

I agree.
I'll say it again: Totally unacceptable in a modern society.
How can these people get away with every 'ism known to man, whereas the majority of the people in this country would be taken to court for such behaviour.
Where are the NSPCC, the Social Services ?
