Please point me in the right direction, I quite fancy a house from the housing association
I presume as a tax payer I'm entitled to one

They give me a house and I get tax back at the end of the year
No wonder they don't advertise this service, everyone would want it
Now, where do I sign up for the house and rebate

what tax, you think everyone who's in a housing association house are not working or don't pay tax ,

you 2 again obviously know little about it ,
It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt

    Public/subsidised housing ?

Better get in line behind the teenage single mothers, the released offenders, the asylum seekers, the illegal immigrants, the deliberately 'homeless', the battered wives, the drug addicts, the mentally ill, the physically ill, the old without savings, the East Europeans with 5 kids, the council house swappers, and anyone else who can come up with a hard-luck story.

You can probably count on a 20 year wait in most 'decent' areas, if you're just a normal (to use Cameron's favourite expression) hard-working family.

    That's me sorted then
I can sell up here, apparently my house has gone up in value by 8% this year alone, and as the peso is now over 70 to the pound I'm rolling in it
I can then come back here and jump the list as I'm destitute and claim my one bed house (I don't want to get hit by the bedroom tax )
Anyone who wants somewhere to stay in the Philippines is more than welcome, sorry to say the same doesn't apply here.... hang on, I could buy a futon
Cheers Joe, that's a fantastic idea I'll pop down to the council this afternoon so by the time I come back from living in paradise for a few years I'll be near the top of the list

    Cheers Graham,

See it must be a combination of the socialist influence and the great mindset of a Yorkshireman that set me on the road to enlightenment

Hahaha.....there must be 1,000s of former homeowners (and sensible people ) who've come back from Thailand, bankrupt and with their tails between their legs.

Actually, in their case, maybe the word should be 'hormoners' .

Ahhh I see, now there's now a criteria to be met.

    Let me have a guess

    I'm British
    I have a job
    I pay taxes
    I don't have a criminal record
    I don't claim any benefits
    I'm not really that religious

I think I know where this is going............................... I'm entitled to the square root of .... all

Unlike the private sector, you are not going to lose your council house if you cannot pay your rent

Problem is, it's NOT the "Biblical Tithe" ... ... it's twenty percent of taxable income for the average worker in this country!

The Tories sold off most of the countries housing stock years ago
Same as the did with the nations utilities

So you know who to blame for no housing and massive gas and electricity bills !
