Michael, as I recall Maritess is under 'old rules' (visa application before 9 July 2012)
In which case she will not come under income threshold and will have no problems with financials. The home Office (UKBA) caseworkers remain under internal policy not to refuse ILR based solely on Financials for those applicants under 'old rules'.

Maritess still must face the challenges of Life in UK though and if she applies after 28 October will need English Languauge pass at level B1.

If she comes under 'old rules' you can both put income level worries right out of your mind.

Congrats to Maritess! And don't worry, IELTS would be easier for her now.
