Anxious Chelsea face wait to see if they can hang on to wonderkid Bertrand Traore
I wonder if the Home Office will look into this
Chelsea face an anxious wait to see if they can hold on to wonderkid Bertrand Traore.
The teenage trialist has been linked with the Blues for three years, although the club insist he is not officially on their books .
Chelsea fought off Manchester United to persuade Traore to come to them, and the midfielder, already a full international with for Burkina Faso, demonstrated his potential with superb goals in the wins over Malaysia and the Indonesian All Stars on the Blues’ Far East tour.
But international rules against ‘trafficking’ young players mean he cannot sign a contract or play in a competitive game at any level.
Chelsea maintain that Traore is at the club on a student visa but are aware they will struggle to get him a work permit as he does not automatically qualify when he turns 18 in September.
