More than 800,000 British jobs are being advertised to foreign workers across the European Union on a website funded by the European Commission.

from the jobs I've looked at, I'm certain there are 1000's of Brits who can do the jobs, so why are we advertising these jobs to the rest of the EU

Good post Joe. Proves its all about cheap labour. Why on earth would you advertise a job as a forecourt attendant on such a site unless you were looking for cheap labour. Obviously the Eastern Europeans are cheaper than the Sri Lankans who normally do that job in London.
I hope they get a Romanian who does a bunk with the takings.

Well thats interesting...it came up with 11464 I.T jobs in the South East so i will be ploughing through them to apply for a few myself.

I started in I.T in 1977 and for some reason have been unable to find a better job for the last 5 years. Maybe its my age!....but if thay are offering these jobs outside the UK then how can they refuse me?

yes they are real jobs, ALL the jobs that are on the UK Jobcentre plus web site and are advertised at Jobcentres in the UK are on this EURO job website.

over 800,000 from the UK, and for some reason less than 300,000 are from Germany maybe they don't have the equivalent of the gov jobcentre there

my brother is\was in a similar position to you Lordna, had really well paid IT jobs in the past, when the last place made him redundant 5yrs + ago, he couldn't get a similar job, so he started his own business working for himself, CCTV, programming, web sites, IT maintenance etc..
