Seems the country is split so I may not be in the minority may be you Stevie
Just saw this "And how ironic that the people screaming she’d wrecked the country and wrecked their lives still had enough money to buy champagne to drink to her death, to shout that they hoped it was a painful and degrading one.
Still, they followed the mob, sheep-like, shouting that someone had told them she was a bitch... and so they were glad she was dead."
Many, many people were not even born when she was in power just following like sheep

"The Daily Telegraph revealed this week that the very miners he once led now view him “as bad as Margaret Thatcher” after dragging the union through the courts in a legal row over perks.
Lets hope you all jump for joy when Arthur Scargill dies,I'm sure plenty of miners will

Because of my increasing tendency to doze off in front of the telly , my son has been left with strict instructions to have me buried...and not too deep, just in case.

tut tut tut, its made people realize that we are no differant then any third world country, partying in the streets burning effigy in the streets and just showing how low we have becomes no wonder everyone wants to come here, be just like back home, its been a bad few days to say i am proud to be brittish, long may she rest in peace, because thats what she gave many in there life time, but like many others you only remember the bad times, but usualy the bad times gives me the incentive to get of my .... to work hard for the good times, but hey ho its just me thinking out loud, no harm ment to others

I agree Steve.
Standards of behaviour really have fallen in this country during the past 20 years.

But from the very beginning of the 18 years of Conservative rule the poor were under the cosh. No developed state, with the exception of New Zealand, suffered such a brutal widening of inequality.
..
New Labour lifted 1.1 million children above the poverty line. A Conservative chancellor is again hitting the poorest the hardest – harder than even Thatcher.

I think it all depends upon how you define 'poverty', and of course how the 'poverty' goalposts were moved around over the past 50 years.
I go to see people in so-called (British) 'poverty' every day of the week, and have been doing so since 1977.
Many of them have made bad decisions in life, or are just idle and feckless.
There are few for whom I feel sorry.
Disabled people (through no fault of their own), SOME pensioners.
The rest live in a society where life is pretty easy and opportunities abound, and that has been the case for a very long time, so what is their excuse ?
Should we take 'poor' children away from their idiot parents ?
Should we stop certain people from breeding ?

No need to post any links the country was all but ruined before Maggie, everyone knows that,What a load of crap about child poverty-I lived through those years.
It was the parents who squandered away and some still do (jeremey Kyle) the money. Some fat cow complaining how she cant feed her kids while puffing on her fags and never doing a days honest work in her life, makes me laugh.
New Labour What a bloody mess we are in thanks to that lot.
