    Cool Driving Test Passed!

I passed the practical test and I'm happy about the result especially that I got 3 minor faults only (2 road positioning and 1 hesitation on the junction). I'm updating my car insurance now. Big thanks to my husband Trefor for buying me a car and teaching me how to drive safely (though in a speedy way ).

    Cheers everyone
    Don't just try, DO IT!

So it's said ... Alas - despite my dad's best efforts to tutor me - I somehow never managed to get the length of sitting a driving test ... ... simply because, back in the 1960s, I wasn't sufficiently interested.

Thanks Arthur. I felt so relieved now. I want to celebrate unfortunately, Trefor is hundred miles away. Anyway, this forum is good enough to share the happiness I have. Cheers

Thanks Joe. It's a first time pass test that's why I felt so lucky.

Poor wifey. Hope the insurance will cover all the cost otherwise, poor hubby .

By the way, of the people in the UK Trefor is the first one to hit my car. Luckily no scratch or dent has been created

    Thanks Stevie.

I have insurance with Admiral. When I was learning to drive Trefor paid £450 (1year) for both of us. After passing the test, Trefor just added £85 to change/update my policy. It's actually a good deal I think.

This is with Rose as the primary named driver, no insurance fronting!

Didn't you know rental cars are the fastest cars on the road? Especially French Clio Diesels (yuk).

... sadly it IS, Rose. Especially since I shall have reached the Biblical "allotted span of three score years and ten" in September 2014. Admittedly, though, I once seriously considered giving it ANOTHER shot after my late first wife (who did drive) died, but by then I'd already turned 50 and my mum discouraged the idea - reminding me I should've paid a lot more attention to my dad's advice to a '20-something' instead of giving in to my impatience to "run before I could walk" as she put it, and I soon gave up the notion for the second time in nearly 3 decades.

Ah ... I'm sure you'd make a really good teacher, Rose - in the same way as I believe you'll be a very competent driver - but it would, of course, be much easier all round, if the pupils you taught were a great deal younger than someone of my vintage.

Congratulations. I wish to drive as well here in the UK.I have some question regarding getting a provisional driver license and enrolling to driving course. What are the requirements I need to prefer and where to apply. I only got in here Feb. 23rd this year.

Thanks Mrs Smith. I have one post here titled Part 1 - Driving Theory and Hazard Perception Test (http://filipinaroses.com/showthread....driving+theory). Have a look, I mentioned the requirements from scratch to test. Please let me know if you need further clarification.

Atleast 185 days from UK arrival date. You need also someone to sign your photo. He/she must be in the UK, knows you for more than 2 years and NOT a family member (i.e. husband and his family signatures not acceptable).
