Dream Cars ?
If I was a millionaire, what would I buy...a Lambo or a Ferrari ?
Nope, something like this gorgeous beast:
(Wind on to about 4 mins to see him leaving his house. I bet the neighbours love him lol !) Max volume required.

I love American muscle cars...the more outrageous the better.
Drag racing has always been an interest of mine too, so hardly surprising.

Even with £50 million in the bank i still wouldn't buy too much. Probably a Land Rover and maybe a nice family car, but that would be it car wise. House would be a normal house, maybe on the outskirts of Dover if we choose to live here still. Otherwise I'd invest a lot, and help charities and events here and in Ruby's town. Set up some family businesses out there too.
I wouldn't waste money on silly unpractical cars. I like quiet vehicles too

The thread is about boys' toys not sensible things.
I don't 'waste' my money on silly ornaments, potted plants and earrings.
These vehicles are VERY good investments too.

I have to admit, I'm generally not into sports cars. I have an Audi TT and hate it, would much rather drive my wife's 4x4. The thing I like about the US cars like the corvette and dodge charger is that they are comfortable, spacious and safe, yet still have a bit of pull.
I think I'll change the Audi TT for a dodge charger very soon.

I won't say anything about Audi TTs being girls' cars then.

I used to be a real 'piston head' but these past few years (as a married man) have caused me to rethink my priorities.
As a driver, I actually prefer Lamborghini to Ferrari, not that I've actually owned either.
I know Graham will never forgive on this, but I've owned a TVR Cerbera that had a top speed of 200mph and could achieve 0-60 in 4 secs but it never really captured my heart. I lost a lot of money on that.
When I lived in Japan I was so lucky to drive an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Le Mans (5.3 litre V8 ) around a private track.
WooHooo. That was some years ago but what a thrill and with some comfort too.
I now covet that Aston Martin One-77 (7.3 liter V12) looks beautiful.
Given a million I'd also consider the sleek and beautiful Jaguar XJ220
But, ever since I saw a TV programme about the design, the building and the awesome performance of the fastest and sleekest and sexiest car ever and given unlimited funds I'd buy .......... guess what??
I've just got to say (sorry sorry sorry guys ) that those real muscle cars just don't meet the sexy smooth and sleek lines that turn me on.
The most fun car I ever had was the humble Mazda MX5 1.8 Not exactly a dream car, but one I had such joy with over a few years, especially driving the country roads. Like driving on rails. Comfort too.
Being hyper critical just a little low and a little small.

Peter, Cerbs (and TVRs generally) are designed for lunatics like me, not sensible folk like you, so you are duly forgiven for buying the wrong car.
XJ220, for me, look fantastic...sound rubbish.
MX5s. I have friends who love them (especially the guy with a supercharged one putting out 200+ bhp).
I have never actually driven one, so I'll happily accept your opinion on them.
.
XJ220s are big !
My friend's Racing Cerb...around 600bhp, which he often runs in the GT Championship as a privateer, usually beating the big works teams of Ferrari and Porsche. They hate him !
.
Another friend's supercharged MX5 during one of our 'run-outs'..here pictured in Helmsley market square.

That IS mad ...if only it could be done.
Sounds like a Hayabusa motor.

I think that can only be done on the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (and no doubt by a Korean driver). i think that guy would have gone airborne long ago if it was any other road here.....

During the 90's I had a 1984 Jeep CJ7 AMC360 5.9 V8 spent £21000 over two years renovating it, chrome rocker covers, chrome diff's, all hoses and wiring stainless steel braiding, paint job alone £8000 also Cooper tyres from US, hard top & soft top, seats all reupholstered leather. Wish I had photo's to show but afraid my ex destroyed everything that ever belonged to me, dont have any photo's pre 2010.!

Always liked a lot of the American street rods, 50's and muscle cars. Trouble is that the roads, garages and weather in UK are not exactly made for them as well as what it would cost in petrol-at least fuel is cheap in USA!
Here's a few I like:
'56 Chevy:

Nice '69 Mustang!:

I drove around in a Ford Zodiac Mk11 for a couple of years. Straight 6
Big big car, but not what you'd call a muscle car
That was considered to be the luxury version of the Ford Zephyr.
Not a dream car I'm afraid, but was grand people carrier.

Yes I remember both the Ford Zodiac and Zephyr mark 1 & 2 also Vauxhall Cresta, great cars with three speed column gear change and bench seats

My dream car is something that uses solar power, doesn't need petrol because I want to lessen my carbon footprint in this planet. One that will collapse into tiny thing so I could just put it in my bag or tuck it away in box so I don't need to pay parking fees, or so that it will stop encouraging capitalist of paving the trees in order to have roads. Maybe something that uses solar power but at the same capable of flying.
Maybe not solar power but seawater.. a hydro powered car...
Me day dreaming for a better world.
Just doing my tiny shareLife as we make it
