Question Child dependant of settled person

Hi! I am only 17 years old and a filipina. My interview is scheduled next month on taguig city, feb 1, 2013. I am a child dependant of settled person. I am nervous with the questions that will be asked in the interview. If you experienced this before, would you rather tell me what are the questions that are being asked during the interview? Need your replies.

    * Sorry for the wrong grammar. Im not that fluent in english. - yung marunong magtagalog, tagalog nalang po reply nyo.

Hello and a warm welcome here to the forum

I take it that this an interview you have been invited to by the British Embassy after submission of your visa application form?

Were you requested to take any specific documents with you?

are both your parents in the uk ? if not they will probably ask you about your other parent, when was the last time you had contact, they probably want to know who has 'sole responsibility' for you, if you live an independent life style ...

The important thing is simply to tell the truth.

Also, I believe you will be permitted to take an adult along with you. I would definitely do that, as you will have company and not be so nervous.

If one of your parents isn't accompanying you, then it should be a person who is related to you and knows your situation well, preferably the one who is responsible for you in the Phils.

They should make sure that they are appropriately dressed and have IDs to allow them admittance to the Embassy.

I'm sorry I'm just so confuse. My father is already dead, my mom is the only one who's in the uk.

If she could be there that would be the best possible situation.

I have brought two under 18s here on settlement visas, so have experience of this.

Their mother went to the interviews.

No one can inform you on the specific questions that may be asked concerning your individual case.

In general terms the Embassy staff will want to hear from you in your own words those answers you provided on the visa application form.
They will most likely ask you to explain further such things as:-
    - Who you live with and why
    - who is providing financial support, how, how much and how often
    - What family relatives do you have living in Philippines and where do they live
    - are you in full time education or working
    - what contact you have with your mother

They'll want to establish who has 'sole responsibility' (search on the forum for that), and if you are living an independent life.

What would happen to you if you would be unable to settle in UK

As others have said you need to be honest in your answers.

I strongly suggest you review the answers you provided on the application form and be prepared to provide further details in your own words at the interview.
