Cool Forum members guy fawkes night and bonfire night

I want to share the photos I took from the Guy Fawkes and Bonfire event last night, 2nd of November at the Lincolnshire Showground.

Funfair, massive bonfire which was lovely and the fireworks. My first time last night to witness an event like that. Enjoyed it to bits!!

Would love to see same photos on this thread too so feel free to post your own version, date and the event's location as well.

    Cheers!!

    Here's mine:

Lovely pics, and glad you enjoyed one of our (few) festivities.

Guy Fawkes was born just down the road from my house here in York.

Sometimes I think we could do with a new one to sort out the current idiots in Parliament.

... seems to me like half the time 'Joe Public' is being treated as the Government's "fall guy"!

Here are mine from last night.
Pretty wet and windy night, but everyone had a great time.

Photo's from my phone so quality not so good.

The heat from the bonfire pushed me back a bit too (closer to the beer tent)

Novie... meant to compliment you on your marvellous photoshots ...

... and yours too, Peter - in spite of any reservations you have about them being taken on your phone camera!

Graham ... I know just what you mean. Perth Rotarians will be staging theirs on the actual night - as they've done since my kids were nippers - rattling collecting cans to raise funds for charity in the process. And while I'd possibly have been game to go along for "old times' sake", Myrna's not overly keen on venturing outdoors in the cold, damp November weather if she can avoid it.

Just stand next to the bonfire...and hope nobody has hidden a load of crow-scarers inside it like my mates once did at the local boy scouts' one behind our local pub.

ohh yes, we spent almost 60 quid just to see the the fireworks and bonfire. 21 quid for the 3 of us for entrance fee only (its like going to see stonehenge for £7.50) plus food, drinks and games at the fun fair.

a lot of money spent for couple of hours only but thats the price.

What happened to having a bonfire in the back garden or the nearest bit of open ground like everyone used to do when I was a kid ?....everywhere little kids dragging trees home down the street and chopping up furniture and anything else that would burn.

We all used to have a a big black bare patch 10 feet across on the back garden the next day and all dad's 'spare wood' had gone missing.
