    Aberdeen

Hi all from sunny old Scotland.

Am a 21 year old oil & gas professional but only relocated here yesterday as only just graduated.

Not Filipino but have been to the Philippines twice and have filipina step-mum along with 2 half-filipino sisters.

Would be nice to make some new friends.

    Hi mxr808

Foamy Aberdeen. I saw the pictures on the news a couple of days ago. All that foam washed ashore. Know it well. Whats your line in oil and gas?

Going in as a Technical Geoscience Support Engineer.

Kind of a mix between Geologist and IT Specialist.

The weather up here can get gruesome but luckily I used to live in Elgin so a bit used to it.

Ah Elgin, the place where the marbles are from....

Would that be Schlumberger, Weatherford, Baker Hughes or Geoservices? That kind of thing? You must be based in Dyce....

Schlumberger. Yeah, based on Kirkhill Industrial Estate on West side of airport. Luckily all office based and no offshore work.

I have worked all my life in the oil industry, with a strong geological and IT connection and have recently married a Filipina. Interesting to meet you. Will look forward to talking some more. Cheers.

    Small world.

I'm with Schlumberger Information Solutions more specifically. Hadn't heard of Anadrill though. 'Tis a very small world though.

Thanks imagine. It WAS sunny today though!

They have so many takeovers that it's hard to keep track of all the divisions within the company these days.

Well, I worked for one of Sclumberger's major competitors.

Looks like you have got yourself a good job. How are you managing to avoid going offshore? Are you working in realtime ops?

Just done a bit of Googling of "Schlumberger Information Solutions". Reminds me of Landmark. I notice there's a huge range of Sclumberger software products.
