Spyware doctor
A note for one of the stickys above im sure you can download spyware doctor with the google pack for free, its not the full version but it detected lots of malware etc on the wifes laptop from where she had been surfing tv links and all the other programe donload sites.
Regarding anti virus unless you have the most powerful pc in the world or just like wasting time on your pc do not use norton, me personnaly i use avg free and does the job for me (ps i get free norton on our laptops with our bt broadband service so its not the cost).

I use Norton 360, best around having tried all of them. The free ones tend to miss a lot of stuff. McAfee is pants, Panda used to be goood, but isn't anymore, BitDefender is another good one.

I agree with you, AVG free version is just great.
Never had any problems especially if it is in tandem with McAfee. I have that on my laptop.
At home, on the main pc, I am using AVAST, again, free edition. It works in the background, and it is not as intrusive as AVG.
I tried Norton in the past, and it is not as good as they say it is.
