I paid £700 last year for a UK Immigration Advisor to process my wifes spouse visa application. I phoned around a good number of companies first and spoke to them all, at length, first. The final bit of filtering that I did was to ensure it was a UK OISC approved adviser that I used.

(I wouldn't have described them as an online company but they of course have a website)

I also filtered out anyone who wanted the whole lot up front.

They also made it plain that there was no guarantees, but did say that they didn't take anyone on who they thought would get a refusal as it would be a waste of the applicants money.

    Mark,
Is the company you engaged an OISC approved adviser ?

    Here is the OISC webpage

You can find complete listings of all Immigration Advisers.

If they're not listed, then your options are limited.

I have to say that £1400 is a huge amount comparatively.

From what you've posted here it seems their advice is very poor and uninformed.

I wish you luck, but I think you need to extricate yourself somehow.

Well if they're listed at least you have a regulatory body to support any problems.
