    2000 students left in limbo

looks like the Uni had 6 months to sort it out and didn't.

Immigration officials said London Metropolitan University lost its Highly Trusted Status (HTS) for sponsoring international students after it failed to improve several failings identified six months ago.

Yep, as I said before it's the genuine students who have been badly failed by the university.
So many just greedy for the money.

    The Universities need sorting out.

Turning them into commercial enterprises is also unfair on our own students....especially as it is no longer a level playing field, what with all the visa issues and general cheating going on.

Character references should also be sought for the overseas students (assuming they're not already), so that at least our daughters know they are not sitting next to or sharing student accommodation with rapists, criminals etc.

UKBA please charter the planes and ship 'em out - charges to be deducted from this rogue university's funding

6 months is long enough. This is the problem when they are run as a business, they take money from anyone. I agree with Dedworth sort the dodgy ones out ship them home and bill the university.

All the usual handwringing suspects are up in arms about Home Office heavy handedness - oily Keith Vaz, NUS President Liam Burns, Jeremy Corbyn etc etc. Any students who fulfil the enrty & visa requirements should have nothing to worry about, the dodgy ones need to be cleared out of the country.

I wonder what nationalities comprise "more than a quarter of students" as the news said.

A nationality survey of those employed as curry house staff, petrol station cashiers, pizza delivery drivers and car wash operatives would give you a clue
