Oil & Gas UK 'Greatly Encouraged' by Tax Relief

Quite interesting after the decommissioning of the Shell Lima gas platform, off the coast of Norfolk, recently.....

"UK energy industry association Oil & Gas UK is "greatly encouraged" by UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osbourne's announcement Wednesday for tax relief to support investment in new large shallow-water gas fields in the UK North Sea, the group said in a statement on Wednesday.

Think we'll see an increase in fragging as well, apparently a large block has been sold down in east kent already. The states wil go for fragging in a big way, rumours are they have a bigger reserve than the middle east and could soon become self sufficient. Wonder how that would affect their wars for bringing "democracy" to the middle east?
    It's been emontional

Yes, there is a heap of shale gas in the UK. They just need to make sure it is brought to the surface without contaminating water supplies or scaring the locals with mini earth quakes.

Looks like Centrica are going to develop a gas field up off the coast of Humberside and Hartlepool in just 76ft of water.

I believe this is so much better than 'importing' from Russia

Yes. Its a good move for both employment in the UK and the gas consumer.
