I worked out I spent £2500 total including return flights for 1 for 20 days in Phils (maximum is 21 before needing visa). Mainly 4* with 1 night in the 5* Manila Hotel balanced by a 3* resort, average 2500 peso per night. 4 local flights for 2 of us, a few gifts, plenty of taxis. Food we budgeted 100 peso (£1.50) each for lunch and 500 each for dinner and beer.
You could get basic aircon room with hot shower for half that, if you could find an apartment that could be cheaper again and you could save money on food with the added fun of using local markets if you cooked yourself. Also easier to live cheaply away from the main centres.

That seems a realistic budget for 3 weeks Deeen...not scrimping.
I wouldn't bother with apartments for such a short period though.
Hotels give you a lot more flexibility....say for instance some horrible noisy people move into the room next door etc.

.
I would suggest that it would make life a lot less complicated for you if you were to choose someone who had neither kids nor previous marriages.
Most important to make absolutely certain that this is the case too.
Unfortunately not all of your prospective partners will be truthful at the start of a relationship.

Ahh as a friend of mine once told the story, of how he picked up a lady in a certain nightclub in town, then in the morning, he was woken by kids jumping on him and calling him "dad"
Allegedly anyway

Ok how many men on here thought to themselves " oh I think I will have
a filipina" surely having the foresight of this forum you should be
keeping well away from us knowing what problems we can be and are.
Besides if you are worried about the money now then you dont stand a
chance as we also require a steady flow of new shoes , bags and shiny/sparkly things,
Best look towards the new europe/old eastern block countries, they
have some beautiful women there, its closer, no visa fee's and you
get a steady supply of vodka.''Don't be serious..Be Sincere''

I take £2000 in cash for just spending money and i always return with around £1000 and that is for 21 nights
Hotels and flights extra of course
Finding a decent hotel in Manila is not easy and you have to pay around £50 a night for something COCKROACH free clean secure and the linen changed everyday
Its not much fun swatting cockroaches all night long and if you see one cockroach then many more will follow
Cockroaches are not small over there and nothing like the tiny ones you can see in the uk

I assume that Jamie's Zamboanga reference is a suggestion that a Moslem lady might not suit you.
But my other half, who is politically liberal, very mildly Catholic (goes to church half a dozen times a year, if that, but the stepsprog must say his prayers at bedtime, just like mine had to) comes from Zamboanga del Sur. Half her parents' neighbours are Moslem, come to think if it her first childhood sweetheart was Moslem, and there is no trouble at all. The area is the subject of an Embassy travel advisory, though, iirc.

Good luck with your search......
If you search online you will have to sort throught the lots of girls just after money
However, you can find a nice girl, they are not all scammers, some are genuine
Re sending money home etc. Its no a requirement......you decide if you want to or not.....My wife never asked for money. Indeed, it never occured to me to even think about sending, as all we chatted about was normal guy/girl romantic stuff, everyday life etc.
The scammers will only chat about money, so its normally easy to spot them lol
Of course I sent my now wife, flowers and money for treats etc but just that, she never asked.
Once she joined me here it was not until she started working that we decided we could afford to send some pesos every month to her mom & immediate family in the house.
However, her mom, dad also work, as do her siblings....otherwise we would send nothing
No way we are working to support anyone being lazy that we know can work....My wife also agrees.
Of course we also send her family money for birthday gifts and Chrismas gifts eg LCD tv, etc. However, dont fall into the trap of thinking you "must" send the family money, thats not the case.
If thats all you girl wants to do, find another
Good luck and I hope you find a nice genuine girl....I know I was lucky as I found one for sure that I love so much.....However, initially, It was money scammers that contacted me at first....but you soon learn
Cheers
