    F1 2012

Well Guys, New cars are built, ugly as they are!

Testing is complete and the Teams are on their way to Melbourne.

6 World Champions on the grid with Raikkonens return!

    Renault are now Lotus
    Lotus are now Caterham
    Virgin are now Marussia

The 2 Cosworth teams didnt test their new cars!

a few rookies in the mix

Who's gonna stop Red Bull & Vettel?

And no BBC live coverage of the 1st race!

    whats our thoughts folks

I think with the defection to Sky, the viewing figures will be down. I think many will turn away from it. I dont have sky and wouldn't pay to view it.

But, I will watch the ones on the BBC, not sure which ones and how many over the season?? any ideas Alan?

Always a great event, I guess I will still back Lewis and Jenson.

This is one of my favorite sports, i love to watch it and i love my track days as well. I can not wait for the action to start.
For all his arrogance and attitude i always want to see Hamilton win, i know he will not be the choice of many but he also has the similar style to Schumacher in that must win at all costs, good or bad tactics.

Its a terrible thing the TV coverage - but saying that I have Sky and the F1 channel has been added free to my existing package so I cant complain.
Also with Sky Go - I can now watch the races pretty much anywhere having the iPad, Laptop or Xbox as these devices can stream the channel.

I'd love to go to Singapore again - saw the first one in 2009 - wonderful event and was good a Brit won the race, the whole setup and organisation in Singapore was great. I could have easily gone in 2010 but I was in Penang that weekend so missed it but Penang was nice.

This year I wont be going to any races but will watch the races live where possible, as for who is going to hold back or overtake RBR - well theres really McLaren & Ferrari I cant see the other teams making so much ground but thats my limited opinion.

Good luck to all the teams I say and may the best man win at the end of the season!

I've got Sky Sports and have been on the verge of cancelling the sports subscription for about 2 years now! But I guess I'll just wait and see what their F1 coverage is like.

But what's with the "dropped noses" on most of the cars this year? They look so ugly!

At least McLaren still have a good looking car. I'll be supporting Lewis and Somerset boy Jenson!

Wow look at this. Lewis Hamilton get pole position just ahead of Jenson Button. It's a McLaren first row block.

Hamilton just squeezed it by 0.152 seconds.

The Red Bull team of Webber and Vettel down to 5th and 6th on the grid.

And how about this, Ferrari way down to 12th with Alonso and 16th with Massa.

Could be a very interesting first race.

    C'mon Jenson!!

    Yes, promising race.

Must remember to mute the radio in the morning so the stupid BBC don't tell me the result (as always) before they even broadcast the race on TV. IDIOTS !

I thought he may have a tough time holding on after the safety car, but nooooooooo!

And what a nice guy too.

As I understand it there are some new rules on overtaking.
I don't know if I understand correctly but here's how I see it.
Drivers can only move once to prevent or block an attempted overtake. If they then go back to their original racing line they should maintain at least a car width free for the rival behind them. In theory then, there should be no more weaving or zig-zagging across the track.

There was a rumour that RedBull car would suffer most now that there's no more off-blown diffusers.
Didn't see too much evidence of that. But does anyone know why RedBull would have had a bigger advantage on that one?

Well Done JB & McLaren,Good to see some changing in the pecking order!
Expect Red Bull to be strong next week though!
The midfield bunch look very close indeed.

Didn't see the Sky coverage but heard they had more staff there that the smaller teams!

BBC did a credable job on the highlights programme

    Sepang now this week

So Ferrari had a bad car in testing & their drivers failed to make the top 10 in qualifying at the 1st Race!

The boss was going to be sacked, Massa to be replaced.... and now look!

Alonso wins in the wet dry lottery in Sepang yesterday and now leads the World Championship!!

    ITALIANS eh

Yep, well done Mercedes. Our village her will be celebrating today

Well done to Rosberg. Good performance all round.

Got to also say well done Jenson again. Despite some delay in the pit.

Well as look would have it I'll be in Spain for the Spanish Grand Prix with the family, and might just head down to that. Otherwise I'll be back at home for the Abu Dhabi Grand prix which is only 4 hours from the house. Could be a good year.
I've been to the Monaco Grand Prix, which as great but since I was working couldn't thoroughly enjoy it.

Much noisier then I ever expected.
