Unhappy The Monkees - Davy Jones dies of a Heart Attack

What a shock to find that The Monkees frontman Davy Jones has died at the age of 66.

The Daydream Believer singer passed away at Martin Memorial Hospital in Florida on Wednesday after suffering a heart attack, according to TMZ.com. No further details surrounding his death were available as WENN went to press.

Davy Jones was every young girl's heart throb in those days and practically every child and teenager watched the Monkees on TV in the 1960s. Rest in Peace Davy, you will always be remembered.

    What a shame. RIP Davy.

I can't really think of him as a pensioner....always that fresh-faced young lad from the 60s.

Though they were the original 'manufactured' boy band, I still love to hear 'I'm a Believer', and 'Last Train to Clarksville' will always remind me of doing my homework on a Sunday night.

    We're all getting older.

I'm not saying I was a 'fan', but I really enjoyed the Monkees.
Like Graham says, many of us will always remember him as a fresh faced young 'un.

I remember watching the TV progs and still enjoy a couple of their songs.

I actually took a train to Claksville one time. Reason, just based on the song.

    RIP Davy Jones.

Seriously, though. I used to watch the Monkees every week. Part of my childhood.

    What an odd coincidence.
I was actually staying at a hotel in Chatanooga called Chatanooga Choo Choo, when I took the holiday special train. The room was a rennovated carriage, wonderful.
My job was also my hobby.

In those days, although the tour was called "Last Train To Clarksville" the train stopped at Nashville for lunch then we all took the tour bus to the museum at Clarksville station. There's a lot of 'Railway Buffs' in USA and it seems they all like to sing 'railway buff songs'.
    It was almost fun.

The thing that struck me was that there were two other tours, one called Chatanooga Choo Choo Express and the other called The Nashville Special.
It was exactly the same train each time to Nashville just a different commentary on the way.

So I guess by default I also rode the Chatanooga Choo Choo

I only took the weekend tour to Clarksville.

I never took the midnight train to Georgia. I wasn't even in the country at that time
