From memory it takes about 5 weeks - my wife did her Nationality Checking via the local council (be aware they can charge wildly different rates - she paid about £80 for The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead but a friend in a cheapo London Borough £45 ) They ship the papers off to a bunch of Scouser Civil Servants in the UKBA
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/br...rvice/#header1 it says in their spiel only 2% unsuccessful
Wouldn't know who to suggest re money transfer probably one who advertises the least

Our friend has just received the confirmation of her citizenship, it took about 4 weeks. She is now waiting for the date for the ceremony.
