3 more sleeps :D
On monday night I'll be heading back to HK for a couple of days sight seeing, then over to the Phils for a couple of weeks on Thursday, and back to Honkers for another couple of days on my way back home
We're going over to Bicol for 8 days - 4 days near Naga and 4 days near Legaspi.
Fingers crossed we don't get hit by a typhoon in Bicol.

Thanks Rayna
It's not the end of the world if it rains, we're used to it here
When I was in Borneo in April, it piddled it down solidly for a few days, I guess that's why it's called a rain forest
, so I'm used to having my touristy plans interupted by rain.

As long as you are with Elaine, I wouldn't worry about a typoon. You probably wont even notice it

Thanks Scott
Looking forward to seeing a bit more of Honkers, I was only there for 3 days and 1 day on my previous visits, still plenty to see there. I'm doing a daytrip to Lantau on Weds, and the Land between Honkers and China in a couple of weeks after I've been to the PhilsI'm a bit disappointed I can't do the day trip to China, but the Chinese authorities have decided they arent issuing Group Tourist Visas from Hong Kong between July 15 and Aug 31 due to the Student Games or an Exhibition taking place over the border during that period

Shame about that... well when you visit Lantau if you are not an organised tour then I suggest
Book tickets in advance for the cable car at Tung Chung.
www.np360.com.hk
Get an MTR from TST (I remember you are staying there) Use the Tsuen Wan Line and change at Lai King to the Tung Chung line and go the end. Walk to the cable car (10 minutes).
The cable car goes to the Big Bhudda at Po Lin Monastery..great place to visit.
when done there get the number 2 Bus from there to Mui Wo. Sit on the right hand seats and enjoy the views over the mountains and the little bays as you head down to Mui Wo.
Take a pleasant walk round Silvermine bay and have a nice sea food meal by one the market restuarants by the ferry pier, right on the waters edge. or a beer at the China bear pub by the Mcdonalds... i once lived above that pub, it was run by two Scottish lads, not sure if they are still there
take the slow ferry back to central Hong Kong. The fast ferry is just an air conditioned sealed box, pay for a 1st class upper deck ticket for the slow ferry and sit outside and enjoy the outer /inner harbour/city views.
Enjoy
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I want to be there now at the pier with a salt and pepper prawns and a large Tsing TaoLive your life for a reason and don't worry be happy

It's an organised tour Scott, through Asiatravel.com and it covers everything you mentioned plus a bit more. I'm not a fan of organised tours and being herded round like a sheep, but given the language and my inability to fathom out Cantonese, it's the easiest way.
Yes, Tsing Tao and seafood, looking forward to a nice bottle with some prawns when I have a nosey round Temple St market tomorrow night
I was doing the same thing on this picture from Dec 2010
