he was a young soldier and journalist when he wrote this speech.
It probably sets out the current views of many but expressed in the
wonderful Churchillian turn of phrase and use of the English
language, of which he was a past master.
Sir Winston Churchill was, without doubt, one of the greatest men of
the late 19th and 20th centuries.
He was a brave young soldier, a brilliant journalist, an extraordinary
politician and statesman, a great war leader and Prime Minister, to
whom the Western world must be forever in his debt.
He was a prophet in his own time.
One of my personal heroes who I am proud to quote either here or anywhere else I choose.

now i do agree with that, but for all religions, they've done more damage than good

Catholic priest on a mission to convert as many as he can to Christianity meets an Eskimo and explains Jesus christ to him:

Eskimo: "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?"
Priest: "No, not if you did not know."
Eskimo: "Then why the hell did you tell me?"

    Hahaha ! Well put.

It is good to have some knowledge of religious beliefs though, because then you can be on your guard against the brainwashing.

Invasion of the bodysnatchers is the way I see it.

All forms of brainwashing? Doesn't seem to be much of a detterent against media mind control

I am an admirer of Winston Churchill too.
I just fail to see what relevance that post had to do with anything.
It was old and reflected the times then, not now in our multi-cultural society

Never felt I witnessed a true multi cultural society develop in the way it was presented to us in the late 70`s and 80`s.. Only cities divided by racially segregated towns..
Our old family`s house in North London contained the last white family in our street that were prepared to put up with other culture being stuffed down their throats day in day out.
Last time I had a look for old times sake the place looked like a Nigerian and Asian ghetto.
Even the Jamaican s and Italians had left!!
    So much for racial integration!
We moved into the suburbs where I must admit the multi cultural experiment seemed to be working a little more efficiently and people of all cultures seemed to mix more readily..
Quite a few Asians,Africans,Indians along with indigenous locals that all seemed to get on really well..
Now as a community they are all moaning together about the European open border policies,Illegal immigrants and just about every subject that causes friction around the country..(and this forum)

Personally,I no longer give a toss as I have no longer a reason to complain and whine...
I`m long gone and I have no intention of going back.
Since living here I have had much time to reflect, and the speech above is very relevant..To me anyway..

As a foreigner here in the Philippines,I always give the up most respect to my hosts and in turn, the locals always seem happy and appreciative to see how easily I have integrated into their culture.
This is not the case however with every foreigner that has moved here over the years...
Filipino`s have various methods of dealing with that type of guest..Im sure you would disapprove.

Im not here to agree or disagree or argue with you or anyone else about the views I have formed over the years about any subject and thus my last post in this thread..

    Cheers... Fred.

A multi-cultural society only works when those coming from abroad want to integrate. Sadly, in the UK this is not the case a lot of the time.
