    UK VISA

Visiting the UK Visa & Immigration site from the link on our web site may look daunting, but over the years they have upgraded the site, and it is now relatively easy to follow.

However, as each person is different, if you have any queries, please post here. Although we are not lawyers, we'll do our best to offer our advice.
    Regards,

    Re: UK VISA

You can find the information and forms at http://194.203.40.90/

You should get it all sorted before she goes, but explain everything in full in a cover letter, even though they don't ask for it.

Always supply as much info as possible, and more when applying for a visa, it makes you look as though you really want it, as you've put in the extra effort.

She needs to use the form for an extension to the visa, but as her work permit will have expired by then, you'll have to prove you are finacially capable of supporting her, and your intentions. If successful they would probably expect you to marry within 12 months.

    Re: UK VISA

I have a Visa dilemma regarding my girl, who is now my wife... My girl is is here on a Tourist/visitor Visa, the Home Office have her passport.
As we have recently got married I would like to know if my wife can legally just stay in the UK, or does she still have to go back when the passport is returned ?
    Thanks.

If you applied for her FLR then you just have to wait for the result. If its approved then theres no need for her to go back again.

    Re: UK VISA

The Home Office will probably want to know why she is on a visitor visa if you new their might be a slight chance of marriage, as they are not sympathetic to people who try to pull the wool over their eyes. You may not have known, but the HO will probably not see it that way.

Have you wrote them a letter explaining this, and including copies of all the marriage documents? As you should have done this the day after the marriage.

I know of a number of people who came on a visitor visa, got married, and then had to go back to the Philippines and apply again. Very messy, as they then take their time over it, as they consider such people as trying to fiddle the system.

Sorry if it sounds harsh, but it's the way the HO work, not me, which is why I always tell people to be 110% honest from the start otherwise, you start digging a deeper hole.

    Re: UK VISA

Ok some information just in via myself from British Embassy Manila......on 15tth Floor..Locsin Building Ayala Avenue...Metro Manila......spoke to ECO there and their is a new fastrack system for Fiance/spouse visa processing......the package can now be picked up by British Embassy from anywhere in Philippines by dialling a number given in consular section........completed applications with fees etc can be picked up and from what the guy behind the counter told me......there may not be a requirement for an interview if the application looks good on paper........however I found that one hard to beleive.......still thats what the man said......also the waiting time for settlement interviews is about Mid September at present.....I was in the Embassy on Monday the 12th July.
