Domestic or Student Visa?
Hi Folks,
My Filipina gf has been in the UK now for nearly a year, with another 6 months to run on a domestic helper visa.
She's employed by her English brother in law here.
The plan is for us to get married and I appreciate I need to ultimately apply for a spouse visa to facilitate this. Due to a number of reasons I won't bore you with this is still many months away.
In the meantime she's desperate to find more or alternative work, and a friend of mine who owns a care home and is used to employing
Filipinos says she can study for an NVQ which would make her eligible for 20 hours a week work.
Her current visa states she can only work for a private household but she'd love to just go and work for anyone without upsetting any border agency apple carts so to speak. Does anyone know if this is true? I don't want to compromise her existing status by applying for a new (eg Student?) visa which could in turn be rejected. She'd liked to do a child care NVQ which I'm very happy to fund. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
