I think the term is widely misused - Usually by the very young and inexperienced. I think the young get confused with being an alpha male, they discover being strong is what attracts women, but take it to mean treat them bad.
Being a man is just that, strong and caring whilst having a great deal of decorum. Being a wimp doesn't attract women and really doesn't attract anyone. Think about the people you respect in life and you'll see they have really strong male attitudes. Being strong, confident and good listener, wise and a thinker whilst making a person feel (when in conversation) that they are the only person in the room.

when i was younger ( and thinner and had more hair ) i used to be something of a ladies man and i came to the conclusion that keep em mean keep em keep did actually work
the girls that i really liked didnt feel the same towards me but the girls that i was somewhat flippant and more assertive with used to fall at my feet- thats not to say keep em keen means being nasty or hitting them just being not as "nice " and more direct.
as an example i was seeing this girl and i was being a good boy and doing all the right stuff- then suddenly she finished with me- when i asked why she said- you never F@***D me
just shows with women no matter what you do you cant always win
we still love em tho
