I think we all would Andy
I wish now that I'd sent more dosh to our Phils bank account.
I wish I'd bought that extra plot of land...

There's a lot of things that I should have done when looking back. But I just didn't think we'd be where we (UK) are in the global scheme of things.

Even my emergency medical fund is not where I would hope.

Never mind. I will still get there, just have to trim back on expectations.
Hope the exchange rate will not be a dramatic issue.
I have started to share my funds between GBP Euro and Dollar.
Wonder if I should open a Chinese bank account

    No.
Are you thinking of SMILE (previously known as Special Resident Retiree's Visa)?

Everyone has an different opinion on what is needed financially to retire in Pinas.
All individual circumstances and needs are different depending on.....................

medical fund, thats something to ponder on, and just how much would be enough? i suppose it depends on how much is left to risk, anything can happen, and if theres a shortfall to pay for lets say an operation,,, and too ill to return to uk,, what then? accept the inevitable and die, well i guess in uk one could die while on the waiting list to be seen,

There is also the OFWs in places like Hong Kong but this usually has to start via the internet.

    [QUOTE=pelfed;265179]Hello everyone.

Hope you all had a very good xmas and new year.

I'm pretty new to all this, but I'd very much like to meet and fall in love with a gorgeous, loving filipino women :-) I think they have beautiful eyes and hold fantastic values (much we could do with more in the UK these days)

Hi pelfed! and welcome to this forum, im also newbie here but if you want to talk to maybe you can add me as your friend .... And thanx for seeing as Pinay women with that great value and all. We are really lovable people just don't make us cry ...

Well if any lady should manage to ditch their boat on Scarborough beach, I'm sure I could find it in myself to buy them a pint.

Sign of a real northern woman - can down a pint at least as fast as me, and afterwards belch so loud the windows rattle
