damm Work
Well I thought life was going great my Jens annulment finished after two years and we were getting all the documents ready to apply for her visa.
Just as things were starting to go right for once in my life dam work has just kicked me in the nuts and informed me i will be made redundant in Jan
what a great christmas present. As life is to live so love is to give

Sorry to read about your sad news Alan, not what you want to hear just before Xmas (or at anytime). Stay positive and hopefully something else will turn up very soon.

Very sorry the hear that alanp... Times are very tough.
The very same thing has happened to me twice in the last 18months...
We finished my Mahal's annulment in February and just got engaged recently..
Friends here will be of great help and support..
I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason ...
Stay positive.. there are good times around the corner and im sure with determination you and Jens will be together soon...

So very sorry to hear that Alan.
Just when life was good.
I also know very well the feelings. Nothing to say to make you feel better.
Easy said than done, but try to think positive.
Seems very quick, were you expecting something?
If I can help in any way, don't be afraid to ask. I think a lot here will support you in some way or other.
God Bless

thanks everyone time to do some big thinking now what to do now. been told it will be 2to 3 weeks b4 we get the formal letter of redundatcy then 3 months notice so it looks like end of march unless we want to go earlier. not herd what sort of pacage but it will be about 2 weeks for every year service.

have to have a digi liecence now to drive hgvs, not many places have the old tacho and all new vehicles have a digi fitted you aply yourself for them just go to the post office get the form , fillit in and send the cash and its yours not the company, get that and join the agency i would not bother for the class 1, if anything go for a haxchem lecence then you would be in work straight away, trust me

Alan ... I'm so sorry to learn you're being made redundant early in the new year. I'd seen the title of your thread, admittedly ... but hadn't read it until now, since I imagined "Damn Work" to be the sort of expression 99.9 per cent of the population - with the exception of those of us who are fortunate enough to be retired - would be likely to use on returning from some glorious holiday.
It's gratifying to note that - true to form - the friendly folk on this site have come forward with their helpful suggestions ... including the excellent of lodging Jen's visa before you [actually] receive your redundancy notice Naturally, we all hope that a suitable job will present itself in the interim ... but, on the basis that you expect to be paid up until possibly the end of March, it's definitely worth considering, Alan.
