Matt i spoke to Lyn shes in town right now but she didnt have the receipts as the ref no. is on it.
Anyways i told her to ring them again when she gets home and give the ref no. from the embassy and if they give her another hassle i said to her she can text me and i will sort them out. I mean ring them up for her.I'm a cruel and heartless bitch but I’m damn good at it!

Perhaps the global recession has helped speed up the visas.
I hear the tourist numbers are still very much lower in the Philippines than a couple of years ago.
As money is tight, there will be less romantic meetings in the Philippines than before also.
The cost of flights are not coming down yet.
The people in the British embassy could be less stressed at work as a result and able to settle visa applications more quickly.
Perhaps they are concerned about future cutbacks and redundancies with the new cost-cutting measures the government have introduced recently.
If there are cutbacks, the time to process visas could increase again in the future.

Well we got the spouse visa and we are both so happy and excited
I cant believe it took only 2 weeks,i was sure it would take a month or 2.
I was worried that my self employment documents wouldnt be sufficient cos i had read on another site that you needed all ur accounts certified by an accountant.I just submitted as much as i could, tax, bank statements and recent accounts and it turned out ok.
Maybe they are looking at the overall strength of the application rather than going through every small detail. But really delighted and surprised to get such a quick decision.
Big thanks to this site and all the posters for the information and help,we both enjoy reading the posts regularly and it has been such a big help in preparing us for our application.

Thanks very much Tomboo and Rosie
Im not sure what is normal Rosie but it seems that some lucky applicants, ourselves included are getting quite fast results.
We did put a lot of work into preparing it and put it all into little folders in the same order as the checklist. Also we changed her passport to reflect her new married name as soon as we got the nso marriage document.
We cant believe we waited only a couple of weeks and now we are busy moving all of our plans forward.
