    Myrna's here

so its her first day and we decide that shopping is in order- whole new wardrobe needed and cash in hand we hit the shops

trawled around all the shops and she spent the sum total of £9.99 on a pair of shoes
wonder how long thats going to last

off to tesco for a food shop - this time £108 later and with the essential slow cooker (wait till later ) we hit boots where she gets a hair dryer and an iron for her hair- to you and me thats ceramic straighteners

anyway we gets home and she is complaining that her rice cooker ( the slow cooker ) doesnt have a cup in it i produce a cup from the cupboard but no this isnt the cup that comes with the cooker. so we have a converstaion for about 30 mins on why the slow cooker and the rice cooker are the same thing

we are due out tonight but at the moment shes crashed out so dunno whether we will make it

    to be continued

    Cheers to both of you!

Can't believe Sparky that you don't know what a rice cooker is

Rice cooker and slow cooker are definitely, in my book, not the same thing Myrna is right!

Slow cooker does meat and veg over a period of 8 hours or so, rice cooker makes rice in 15 minutes, it's an absolute essential, I never had one before I went to the Phils but I could not live without it now.

She can always cook rice in a pan.. i do cook rice that way and it only takes 15-20 mins and wallah! it's done! no fuss going about

And also, I was wondering if there's any charity shops where you live? She can get a lot of shopping for pennies in the second hand shops.

Be reasonable hehe! i'll consider myself KURIPOT!

I go to carboot sales to buy much cheaper clothes or any other things that i can send at home by boxes.

You're right! There are a lot of discounted prices during sales. I like Primark for coats, shoes, etc.

I do buy some other things on ebay uk, too!

... you have to be more practical these days..

Try go to wilkinson. Got a rice cooker from there for £12, non stick and with a matching measuring cup on it... But that was 2 years ago?
I'm a cruel and heartless bitch but I’m damn good at it!

    Get a rice cooker

Take her the local Asian food store to stock up on the smelliest stuff known to mankind

Setup Skype with as many of her friends/family back home.
