... either Joe, Wales Rob or Iain Busby ... as the wives of the latter two members mentioned already HAVE British Citizenship ...

... which REMINDS me, I must take note of any replies received, as my own wife will, hopefully, be eligible to apply herself in the not too distant future!

Form AN is the one you want: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/si...ty/form_an.pdf and the guide for that form is here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/si...y/guide_an.pdf , but it's a different one for your daughter and there's a bit on that form that you have to state that you are applying for her under section 3(1) of the British Nationality Act 1981. It's a very complicated form to complete btw.

Applications for registration will be considered at our discretion under section 3(1) of the British Nationality Act 1981. When deciding whether to register a child as a British citizen we will consider:

    • the child's connection with the United Kingdom; and
    • where the child's future is likely to lie; and
    • the parents' views; and
    • the parents' nationality; and
    • whether the child is of good character; and
    • the length of time the child has lived in the United Kingdom; and
    • any compelling circumstances such as a job offer or other opportunity which requires British citizenship.

There are no formal requirements that the child needs to meet. We will consider the individual circumstances of each application. When you make the application you should make sure you provide us with all the information you think is relevant to the child's case.

    Iain.

Here is the form and the guide document you will need to apply for your daughters naturalisation.

    http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/si...y/form_mn1.pdf

    http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/si.../guide_mn1.pdf

You apply under Section 3 (1)
    • section 3 (1) any other case not listed below where it is considered to be in the child’s best interests to be granted British citizenship.

    Cheers,
    Iain.

... hadn't realised how "steep" the fee IS! Yet more money in the Govt's coffers. And they've got the nerve to cry hard-up.
