    Hi all,
You cannot get a more british meal than "Tripe and Onion"
Not that I would eat it!
When I was young around 60 years ago my dad used to make me deliver "childlins" and other cheap food he was able to get then and share with other people!

A nice Beef roast dinner for me!

Triple5 A lot of people allege that Tikka Masala was actually invented in the UK. Indian origins, obviously, but not generally available in India.

My wife loves Fish & Chips as well.

I don't like any of them.
But roasted beef and roasted potatoes makes me feel excited in going back-and-fort to the kitchen!

i dont see the pinay attraction with dried fish- i have told Myrna that i live by the coast and fresh fish/seafood is readily available and she still wants to know where she can find dried fish!!!!!!

    surely fresh is better

We eat Talapia fresh, the marinated milk fish is always frozen.
The taste of dried fish reminds me of Friday tea times 40 years ago.

it was Sprats and that is what the brand of dried fish Jane gets, reminds me of.

We don't have the thick crusty bread to go with it though
It is 2 buckets of rice instead

No, it's not food ... but from reading about all the sumptuous dishes she enjoys, it would seem she can "EAT like a horse"!

Glad you like the traditional Scottish recipe consisting of haggis, neeps [turnips - mashed] 'n' tatties, Ann. Must say, I enjoy it too ... but alas, Myrna was somewhat reluctant to sample this delicious (peculiarly native) delicacy - once she'd read the ... ... list of ingredients on the label of the outer-skin ... um ..."bag" containing the haggis itself. ... me and my !

Suffice to add ... she's since reverted to her former custom of having rice as an accompaniment to each and every main meal.

Well, Myrna & I tend to shop at Farmfoods too ... not ALL the time, like ... but regularly, because it sells good quality products at an affordable price. And WE'RE thriving! There's even two of their stores in Perth ... so THEY'RE obviously not doing so badly either.
