How long from from discovery to UK?
We know about how long visa's take, but how long did it take from 'First Contact' with your better half to landing at a UK airport?
Took me about 2 years as wifey wanted to finish her work contract first, so I had to force myself to visit Singapore numerous time... hell it was .... and then having to travel all that way and share a bedKeith Driscoll - Administrator

I first made contact with my wife online in September 2005. Then I went to meet her in person in November 2005. Went back to Phils in June 2006 for a month and got married, applied for the spouse visa which came through at the beginning of September 2006 and she finally arrived here at the end of September 2006.

Our first contact was online back in April 2006, we met for the first time in November 2006 and she arrived in the UK in February 2009. Some of the time taken was because I was married when we met so had to wait for divorce before we could marry and bring her here.

I met my wife in Israel when I was there on business in May 2008. She got to the UK on October 2nd 2009.
The odd thing was that neither of us were looking for a relationship when we met, it just all clicked into place and is now beautiful'The mind is like a parachute - It works best when its OPEN'

Who was under 1 month That's good going
I've no intention of bringing my girl here. We had discussed it, but I've now decided there's no point when I don't even want to be here myself

Marvie had been to the UK, before we even met for training in London. Then I guess it was around 12 months after we met that she came to the UK again, and has been 4 times to the UK now. Not sure we'll ever reside in the UK though.

My work took me to the Philippines and I first met my now wife on September 6th 2002
We had a daughter soon after in October 2003
Got married in Paranaque City Hall in January 2009
Applied spouse visa straight away, and my Wife and kids arrived in the UK in June 2009
So you see we do things backwards. Most couples I know meet, fall in love get married, live together and eventually have kids?.........Well we met, had a kid, fell in love, lived apart, got married, and finally are now all living together!...........This took over 7 years.

With us we met by chance (28th April 2010 first time - meaning "Hi, how are you, Im Ok, whats ur name etc"), not really looking for deep love but it happened, met in Davao Feb 2011, then 7 times since then, Fiancee visa applied for 7th Feb 2013 - 28 days later got the visa back !(didn't expect it that quick, put a proposed leaving date in her visa app of 26th May, so they dated the visa start from 11th May) Flight booked for 26th May 2013 to arrive in UK - Nearly went to CFO before the visa was current even though it was in her passport - so watch out for that one!
