    Useful Phrases

I hope this has not been done before, but seeing many of us are starting out in our journeys in finding love in the Philippines, can we make a list of handy/useful and common phrases we english can use when we travel to Phil'

    Simple phrases like :
    ENGLISH .............................................TAGALOG
    How much is that?
    How far is it?
    Where is the toilet?
    You are very kind
    I will have one
    I want to buy this
    It is very hot
    What time is it?
    Yes please
    No thankyou

Just a few examples there that I have thought of. I just dont trust the online translators, so I hope that you guys who speak tagalog can help. Maybe the 'boss' could compile a definitive list as the thread grows (if it does) so we noobs to tagalog can make reference.

    Steve

Do you have a telephone >>> Meron ka bang telepono? (when you say "have" it means "Meron"...just put "don't" in the beginning <don't have> to mean "Wala")
It's expensive >>> Ang mahal. ("Mahal" can both mean love and expensive depending on the use)
    Who? >>> Sino?
    What? >>> Ano?
    When? >>> Kailan?
    Where? >>> Saan?
    Why? >>> Bakit?
    How? >>> Paano?
What's the news? >>> Anong balita?
    Wake up! >>> Gising na!
Let's sleep! >>> Tulog na tayo!
Let's eat! >>> Kain na tayo!
    Stop it! >>> Tumigil ka!
Let's have a coffee. >>> Tara magkape tayo.
    Let's drink to that! / Let's have a drink. >>> Uminom tayo!
Mate/Friend >>> Kaibigan - but you can use "Pare" for a guy or "Mare" for a girl, to call them. Like "Kamusta Pare?" >>> How are you friend/mate.

Just some simple phrases you can use everyday
