Yes you can get the marriage certificate and can apply for spouse visa by yourself

Hi Cessy - hope you have a lovely wedding. be aware that the mariage certificate may take up to 3 months to arrive - and your husband isn't allowed in the VFS building anyway - I went with my (filippino) husband and had to sit and wait on the steps outside the building!

    Enjoy and ggod luck

For some reason Cess [I wonder why? ] whenever your 'user name' appears on the site, I'm tempted to say "Hi Sexy". But of course that's really your future husband's prerogative ... !

Anyway, just to remind you ... your fiancee will need to have his CNI converted to the Philippines' version at the British Embassy in Manila.

And that's it, basically ... except to extend my best wishes to both of you on your upcoming wedding.

... *this seems to be a common misconception among applicants ... because I WAS able to accompany my wife to the VFS check-in desk ... although did have to take a seat in the Waiting Area while she had her biometrics done.

To be completely factual, I was allowed in the building and up to the VFS entrance on the 6th floor, where I was turned away - in the new building there is no waiting area and I was sent downstairs to wait - there is no waiting area here either, so I sat on the steps outside and was moved on by a security guard until I settled by the fish pond outside the cafe at the front of the ecoplaza building - there was some indication that if I was 'needed' I may be called - but from where????
