I am a bit confused with the questions, but hey!

If you are applying for a visitor visa, your passport SHOULD BE VALID for atleast 6 months.

If you are applying for a visa as a spouse of a UK national, then having your husband's surname on your passport is okay. I can't see any logical reasons why that has to be reversed back to your maiden name.

If your passport is valid from November 2008, then you'll be okay.

hello.welcome to the forum.no need for you to get a new passport coz your passport is still valid. probably your friends applied for a new passport when they had their name changed and after that they submitted their application thats why their passport is still new. you know what when i applied for a visa last february 25, 2009, my passport was still in my maiden name and the expiry date was december 24, 2009.they accepted my passport.in your case, you have nothing to worry about your passport.

As long as you hold a travel document which is legal in the Philippines and that is still likely to be legal (not expired) by the time your visa is issued, either in your maiden name or your married name, then I'm sure you won't have a problem when applying for a spouse visa.

We're only 2009 babykoh. Our passport is valid for 5 years so wait more 4 years to renew So don't panic.

May I ask you a question why your didn't apply you visa in 2008? Hope you won't mind. So have attended your CFO seminar already? Anymore information?

I think I might know what you mean, as I read something recently that worried me for a short time. The accompanying photos you send with your Visa application should be less than 6 months old. The passport just has to be current and valid for the term of the Visa.

Its rather confusing on the Visa forms and guidance - needs reading carefully.

just make sure that you also submit your old passport specially if it has stamps on it, based on the checklist which says: Current passport with recommended validity of at least 6 months and any old passport...

But if your old passport hasn't been used then I think it is useless to submit it cos there aren't any stamped pages there...

Just my opinion... good luck to your application.
