So worth asking if they have taken it off the item ou purchase.

Might be only 2.5% but i bet a lot of us will be happy if we get that as a wage increase this year.
Oh lord why did you make so many clothes and shoe shops

The only surprise is that only "some" shops did actually reduce the VAT.

The vast majority of retailers haven't bothered or just plainly ignored it...

We all know shops fiddle the sales prices anyway, if I'm gonna buy something with a big price, I'll always do some googling first and the retailer with the lowest price gets the money.

How do you work that out? They sell it at the market value people are willing to pay.

I was referring to the practice of "this item was previously for sale at £x.xx". Some goods I've seen advertised in the January sale (and tagged as a "sale item") were in fact MORE expensive than the regular pre-sales price.

That is marketing, not fiddling though, again, if a customer is willing to pay at the shown price, then that is business.

I give all my friends a 10% increase on my products!

Well, in this case, until I find out about my status, I will refrain from ordering anything.....
