Change in Visa Prices (1 Feb 09)

    From the VFS site ....
Visa Application Fees are shown in Philippine Pesos (PHP) and Pounds Sterling (£) converted to the Consular Rate of Exchange in force at the time of the application (currently £1= PhP70). Please be informed of the New Visa Application Fee which takes effect on 1 February 2009.

Notice: Applicants are advised that NEW visa application fees take effect on 1 February 2009. Manager's Cheques with the incorrect visa fee amount will NOT be accepted

    Fiance(e) visa is now p36,050

Last month it was p38,750.... which is good news, unless like me, you got your cheque issued to you on Saturday !
So, instead of booking the appointment today, it means she has to return to the bank to exchange cheques and get a new reference number.

What's even more annoying is that I e-mailed the British Embassy in Manila (cc to VFS) asking about this "moving" Forex rate some 7days ago, and the likelyhood of it changing, and would they refund monies...... and I'm still awaiting a reply.

Mr F***ed off & not very happy.

    Hi Bluebirdjones..

yes, they refund money. When i submitted my application, they had a change of rate. The VFS officer gave me a refund form. They'll issue a check for the price difference.

    Hope this clears ur questions.
