open communication, trust and respect for each other's feelings... when both of u are angry i guess the best thing to do is that one of you should go to the other room or just go to a place where you can think properly and realize your mistakes then come back and talk it out with your other half in a nice way without shouting at each other. But it's easier said than done, sometimes when I'm angry, I just can't control myself that I just wanna let it all out, shout and nasty words come out of my mouth which isn't nice...

i think good communications trust as mrs o. farell say.if there is a problem should talk first and try to solve the problem if there is.if u have aguments dont make it worts.calm down first and then after calming ur self down u both seat and talk about. dont make it until tomorrow when my husband and i had an aguments we do the same we try to calm dowm then when we r already calm we try to talk and solve it and make sure that we dont sleep with feeling bad each other. and i salute u mrs o.Farell ur right.

Best piece of advice I was ever given:
YESwill ALWAYS mean NO, and NO will ALWAYS mean YES, unless YES means YES, and NO means NO.Keith Driscoll - Administrator

a.) I remember I asked my Mom many years ago as their marriage last for 54 years b4 my Dad passed away. Mom said patience, understanding, love and kindness.
b.) I also asked my Mom and Dad-in-laws as they are married for 55 years now. Dad said, JUST 2 MAGIC WORDS.
YES DEAR
I think we're the same as a.)

In addition to everyone's responses and based also on our experience as a couple... I think one should learn how to compromise & be humble enough to accept mistakes/faults, never ever let pride rule out within yourselves coz it will just destroy relationship no matter how much you love each other.
most of all, put God in the center of your relationship.with a heart full of love, you will express your highest potential while also fulfilling your soul's deepest purpose:
TO LOVE AND BE LOVED!

I thought the topic of this thread was how to make a successful and happy marriage So has your husband punched you back... because if he hasn't yet, he will one day
Think you need to take some advice from the older members of this forum and learn how to behave properly.... or risk having an ex husband

Word male or female those who resort to violence need to take a look at themsleves..
Learn how to express your self otherwise oneday your regret it one or both of you will get hurt.
Also bear this in mind, i remeber one girlfriend slaped a few times this mate of mine he was like grr but just stood there. A female friend of his took offence to cut a long story short and lumped her a few times. Do remeber the avg brit woman is a lot bigger than you.Oh lord why did you make so many clothes and shoe shops

Oh dear! I'm afraid if Hanna ever hit or kicked me in anger, that would be the end! Listen to the advice you have been given here.

a happy and sucessful marriage haha does it exist ?
joking apart can playing "twister" naked help ? LoL
or "strip scrabble" ...
winning the lottery keeps both amused but you still need
that sparkle.so how do we keep that sparkle ?
making love in public places (quickies) is always sexy.
love remains but can it lead to taking each other for
granted ...another day same old... in 10-20 years from now
will it be the same as it was in the beginning ? no of
course not ,we living in the real world. so what should we do ?
well if we knew that answer then there would be less divorces lol
what keeps it going (dont just say LOVe) ?
open to suggestions here ..LOL
p.s im a happily married newly wed lol

it's not just about the good times, its also about the bad times, and getting thru them without tasking the easy route of walking out and quitting on each other
