Filipino Festival in the Park - Saturday, 5 July from 11am.

FILIPINO FESTIVAL IN THE PARK
ROPNER

Park will be buzzing with music and activity as the second
Filipino Festival takes place on Saturday, 5 July from 11am.

The festival is all about celebrating Filipino culture and visitors will
hear and see sights and sounds giving a vivid insight into Filipino
life.

Visitors will also be able to sample delicious traditional Filipino
cuisine. There will be activities for children with dance workshops,
stories, quizzes and colouring books and rides for the kiddies too.

Music and dance will be provided by Lahing Kayumanggi, a traditional
Filipino folk dance troupe from London, as well as a stage performance
by the local talents of Lani de la Fuente, Gerwin Premarion, Couples for
Christ Choir and Barry Hopwood.

For ease of access there will be free parking available at Grangefield
School and a free shuttle service form the Stockton High Street and
Thornaby Station.

The Mayor of Stockton, Councillor John Fletcher, and officials from the
Philippine Embassy, Rey Catapang (Deputy Head of Mission), Bernadette
Fernandez (Consul), Chicoy Enerio (Tourism Attache) along with other
dignitaries will be attending.

Councillor Mary Womphrey, Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Arts,
Leisure and Culture said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone
to learn about the colourful Filipino culture - right here in the heart
of Stockton.

"Ropner Park is the perfect place for such an event and I'm sure
visitors will have a wonderful experience with everything on offer."

This Festival is presented by ABS-CBN (The Filipino Channel) and the
Filipino Association of Stockton on Tees, and sponsored by Celestial
Travel and The Philippine Dept of Tourism. For more information visit

Just arrived from the festival:D. The rain was started when we arrived :Brick: I enjoyed anyway but not much. I met friendly filipinas too. We have seen some guests like Madonna Decena.
I thought we might not come as my hubby said last night because he was tired for a week job. So I pampered him last night to convince him:xxgrinning--00xx3:.
But what a bloody weather! very unpredictable:bigcry:. I kept sneezing now:NoNo:
