Hi everyone,

if I'm making adobo is the vinegar I use just ordinary malt vinegar?

I ate chicken adobo before with Bert on the ship so I'm going to have a go myself.......

wish me luck!

Adobo is one of my favorite filipino dish..when I cook it here I used the white wine vinegar but I think Malt Vinegar will be ok too..

Goodluck..:)

Good with clear distilled vinegar. Use Ajinomoto also instead of salt if you can get some. Adobo belly pork is my favourite. Masarap.

don't think it turned out like it was supposed to! used all the ingredients on the recipe and made sure I added the ones you mentioned....

Maybe I'll have to wait til I go to the phils in September and get the mother in law to make it for me!

Well, it was nice anyway although not as expected!

:BouncyHappy: try adding dried bay leaves (just a couple) and try cider vinegar, that works for me and I'm ilocana so my adobo version might be a different take. Oh and sometimes i do an odd thing,,, in the last 15 minutes of cooking the adobo, add half a dozen peeled hard boiled eggs... makes it interesting... quail eggs would have been better, but can't find them anywhere here - sad! :bigcry:
