A Scottish man.has been critically wounded after being shot and mugged just hours before he was due to wed his fiancée in the Philippines.
Tarek Naggar, 44, from Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, was reportedly fired at in the early hours of Thursday, 20 July by a gang of men on a motor scooter who made off with his wallet as he was having a drink with partner Angie.
The couple met in Sweden, where Tarek is currently living, and were planning to relocate to Thailand where fiancée Angie had secured a job teaching English, the Sunday Herald reports.
Tarek's best man Chris McLaughlin, from Bearsden, is understood to have been with the couple at the time of the incident and claims two of the men on the scooter demanded Tarek's wallet before pulling out a pistol and blasting him in the chest.

Always hand over your wallet if a robber has a gun.

I have known quite a few Filipinas. Most of them would empty your wallet surreptitiously long before you decided to hand it over willingly

I wonder how much I'll raise if I set up a GoFundMe page for a nice relaxing trip to the Phils? :Erm:

Seriously, I bet there are some made up sob stories on there.

I put a link on here maybe 2 years back? Some guy had been working in Dubai or Singapore, lost his job, his wife and kids had to go back to Pinas. He came back to UK and was trying to raise £60,000 savings so they could be together as a family again. I never followed his story so don't know the outcome. :Erm:
