House hold insurance was due this weekend and I did receive the letter a few weeks back but I had forgotten all about it.
So checking the bank this morning I noticed they had taken out the full amount for the coming year, and yes it had gone up and I was not a happy chap.
So 9am on the dot I was speaking to a nice lady who helped me out.
I have cancelled the new one and opened a new new one with the same company and at a new customer rate, so I am getting the same deal even cheaper than my old policy.
It's crazy when companies put up these prices each year and think that no one cares.
Better in my pocket I say.

What do people really pay for house insurance? someone I know pays over £200 per annum for a property very similar to ours, yet I only pay £61 per annum for buildings and contents :Erm:

Go online and compare your £61 to theirs £200, I am sure there will be differences in both policies, do you have excess on yours for lots? What are your contents worth what is the cost to rebuild the house and so on.
Just a thought here if you are paying £61 per year, you have not got enough cover, or nothing is covered, check what you are paying for.

Also price depends where the property is...

Wouldnt go without though personally.

When the upstairs flat flooded me out some years ago. I am glad I had it. Would always get it now. Think I only pay around £120 for buildings and contents. there or thereabouts.
