One busy stretch of highway near the German city of Hanover was temporarily shut down ... following the discovery of unexploded World War II :cwm24: bombs in three areas during roadworks reconstruction.

Around 7,500 residents were evacuated from their homes while bomb disposal experts dealt with the situation.
