Hmm... actually doing a bit of gardening this morning (not like me. lol), and came across this prickly plant trying to stab me to death, so started to cut it back, thinking it was a pesky Hawthorn intruder.

Then I noticed the Gooseberries ! I must wear my blinkin glasses in future ! :doh

We call them GoosegoGs Graham, really nice when made into a Crumble, a good substitute for Rhubarb in a crumble.

Aaah.... maybe that's what we used to call them too, but it WAS about 50 odd years ago. lol :olddude:

Yes, two of my fave dishes... those crumbles. Not that I've any chance of producing such gourmet (by my standards) food. :icon_lol:

I'm not a jam person Steve, I prefer a good pasty or sausage roll.
