Rabbits jump ... and can live for 8 years.

Dogs run :animal-smiley-037: ... and [some hardy breeds] survive for an average of 15 years.

BUT

Turtles engage in neither of those physical activities ... yet they're capable of being around for anything up to 180 years. :yikes:

So ... :anerikke: ... go figure!

Rabbits can live for more than 12 years... if looked after properly.

I had a mouse who lived 4 years (suppose to only make it to 2 years).

Smaller breeds of dogs tend to be the longest-lived (presumably less strain on heart and other organs, joints, bones).

Great Danes and other heavy giant breeds may only live 8 or 9 years.

I know there was a Border Collie listed in one of my Guinness Book of Records as having lived 28 years. :cwm24:

Cats generally live 3 or 4 years longer than dogs.

Many bird species are long-lived too... also many fish and reptile species (other than Tortoises and Turtles, which you've already mentioned).
